The Papua's Legend of Cendrawasih

There's a legend in Papua about the bird of paradise, known as Cendrawasih. The story told that once upon a time in the past, there's a mother who lost her son. Her sad soul calls for her son, crying and dying. Then her soul transformed into a beautiful bird and flying in to the sky.

The story of the man who turned into animals is a common thing for the people of Papua. They believe that in this world there is a natural force called Imunu (also known as Mana). Basically Imunu exist in every object in the world, living or dead, including humans and animals. Sometimes there are some talented people so that their Imunu active since they were born. But sometimes Imunu may being activated due to an event or a change in the phase of life.
